A community of practice for educators at all levels and all sectors interested in teaching computing

The Computers in Education Society of Ireland (CESI) is the teacher professional network for
anyone with an interest in the potential of technology to enhance the teaching and learning
experience for all involved in education. CESI•CS focuses on computing.
In 2017 CESI welcomed the announcement of the intended introduction of Computer Science as a
Leaving Certificate Subject. Members are also involved in the Junior Cycle Short Course in Coding,
some are developing Computational Thinking in Primary and there is representation from third level
too.
Following the successful application to Google for sponsorship for 2018-2019, CESI is expanding
the number of meetings and is developing ways to sustain the community through local efforts.

A meeting will be held in Galway Education Centre on Tuesday, 27 November 2018 from 7 to 9 pm

Why should you come to a meeting?
The meetings will give you a chance to address personal needs, build relationships with other local stakeholders and discuss
issues relating to the development and practice of computing in education.
We will workshop activities to develop personal knowledge of computing and computational thinking.
