SPHE and the Visual Arts Seminar

The PDST Health and Wellbeing Team is delighted to extend the Getting to Know You….Creatively seminar to all Education Centres this year. The seminar was piloted successfully in a select number of Education Centres during Term 3 of the 2017-2018 school year.
This seminar aims to explore the Visual Arts (Fabric and fibre / Construction) as a meaningful context for fostering positive self-identity and personal wellbeing and to facilitate the effective integration of SPHE and Visual Arts to support the children’s emotional literacy.
By attending this seminar, participants will:
1. Explore the Visual Arts as a meaningful context for fostering positive self-identity and personal wellbeing
2. Facilitate the effective integration of SPHE and Visual Arts to support the children’s emotional literacy
This practical and experiential seminar is suitable for all primary school teachers. We will be providing some materials for you. We are requesting that participants please bring the following items: apron/old shirt to cover your clothes, cardboard, journal/notebook, fabric scissors, pencils/pens, any scraps of material, buttons/sequins/ribbon and a big box to bring all of your creations home!

This course will take place in Galway Education Centre on 5 March 2019 - 9.30 am - 3.30 pm
