Primary Language Curriculum / Curaclam Teanga na Bunscoile Professional Learning Programme for Schools 2019/ 2020
The Primary Language Curriculum/ Curaclam Teanga na Bunscoile (PLC/CTB) for all four stages of primary school (junior infants to sixth class) will be launched in September 2019.
In line with this, the Professional Development Service for Teachers (PDST) in collaboration with the National Council for Special Education (NCSE) are continuing their professional learning programme for schools during the 2019/2020 school year through the Education Centre Network
A suite of professional learning opportunities will be offered by PDST and NCSE to include the following:
National Seminar for PLC/CTB Full day seminars will be facilitated by the PDST in collaboration with the NCSE during Term 1 2019/20. These will be organised for Galway Schools through Galway Education Centre. These seminars commence in Galway Education Centre on Monday 23d September 2019.
The seminars will focus on the implementation of the PLC/CTB from Junior infants to Sixth class as well as providing a chance to reflect on implementation to date for stages 1-2 in relation to teaching and learning.
Please note that schools should encourage NQTs and substitute teachers on their staff to attend this seminar.
Seminars for School Leaders
The PDST will facilitate specific seminars for school leaders in Term 1 2019/20 towards supporting them in leading curricular change at school level. These seminars will be organised for Galway Schools through Galway Education Centre.
