EXPLORERS ' WE ARE OCEAN CHAMPIONS' SCHOOL PROJECT

APPLICATIONS NOW OPEN FOR EXPLORERS 'WE ARE OCEAN CHAMPIONS' SCHOOL PROJECTS IN CO. GALWAY AND CO. CLARE

The Explorers Education Programme Team at Galway Atlantaquaria (funded and supported by the Marine Institute) are delighted to provide teachers and schools with an opportunity to take part in a school project that is aimed at introducing an inclusive all-school approach, to learn about topics relating to the ocean.
'We are delighted to be able to offer this whole school project to a small number of schools in Co. Galway and Co. Clare' said Dr. Noirin Burke, and announce the application process now open.
This year, the theme is based on ‘creating a healthy ocean’.  Primary school teachers and an Explorers outreach officer will work together, creating their own unique Healthy Ocean project objectives and outcomes.
The application process is open to primary schools in Co. Galway and Co. Clare, with a closing date of the 17th of February.  Successful schools must include a 4th, 5th or 6th class, and a minimum of 100 children. (Please note a collaboration between a number of small school can apply as one group to meet this criteria if needed).
Further information on the project can be seen on the application form , or obtained by emailing noirin@nationalaquarium.ie
